This first volume is a colour facsmilie of the codex itself, originally published by Ms Nuttall in 1903, also by the University of California. Volume 2: The Codex Magliabechiano and the Lost Prototypeof the Magliabechiano Group by Elizabeth Hill Boone. This second volume is a scholarly commentary on the codex, bringing together all the relevant scholarship. The Codex Magliabechiano is a pictorial Aztec codex created during the mid-16th century, in the early Spanish colonial period.
